Check of level ATF

Test conditions

Transmission should not work in emergency mode, ATF temperature not exceeding 30 ?� C.

The vehicle must be in a horizontal position.

The selector is set in position ?�P?�, engine running at idle.

All electrical consumers and air conditioning system should be switched off.

Check

Secure the tank with oil systems to the Gulf ATF VAG 1924 car.

Connect VAS 5051 and switch to display "Function / component".

Then choose the "Drive (Rem. - C. 01; 10-26; 28-39)."

Then the "Automatic gearbox 09D?�.

Click on "Options."

Click "Checking ATF?�.

Start the engine.

Press the brake pedal.

Include selector 2 St. every position. Then, switch the lever to position ?�P?�.

Raise the vehicle.

Place the pan under the gearbox.

Check temperature of 35 ?� C

Remove the drain plug for the control of level ATF in the oil sump (Fig. 3.1).

ATF level too low if, after unscrewing the plug follows a weak flow of ATF.

If after about 30 sATF no longer flows, add ATF.

Top up with ATF using the device for pouring ATF VAG 1924 until the oil flows out of the control holes.

Allow to drain ATF until until it begins to drip only.

Install the oil level plug ATF with new oil seal and tighten to 70 Nm. This check of level ATF is completed.

ATF level too high if, after unscrewing the threaded plug ATF flows.

Allow to drain ATF until until it begins to drip only.

Install the oil level plug ATF with new oil seal and tighten to 70 Nm. This check of level ATF is completed.

Turn off the engine.

ATF level is normal, if after unscrewing the threaded plug follows a weak flow of ATF, then with an increase in ATF temperature drops drain only.

Install the oil level plug ATF with new oil seal and tighten to 70 Nm. This check of level ATF is completed.

Transmission

If the gearbox has been unscrewed the lid or the gearbox oil has been drained, do not start the engine and do not tow the vehicle.

The connections and their adjacent surfaces thoroughly clean, then unscrew the compounds.

When installing gearbox follow the correct centering sleeves fit between the engine and transmission.

Put the removed parts on a clean surface and cover, thereby protecting it from dust. For this use the film and paper. Do not use rags, leaves the fiber.

If the repair is not performed immediately, gently cover part or close them.

Install only clean parts. Spare parts unwrap just before installation.

It is forbidden to start the engine and the car towed if the transmission oil pan removed or the oil in the crankcase is not ATF.

When removing the gearbox attach the converter to prevent it falling.

Before installing gearbox, check the size of the torque converter assembly.

After installation, check the oil level ATF.

Gaskets, O-rings

Always replace the O-rings, seals and gaskets.

After removing the seals, check the contact surface housings / shaft for damage and burrs, if necessary, eliminated.

Before installing the oil seal, lubricate the outer perimeter and sealing lip with a thin layer of oil ATF, depending on the installation location (Fig. 3.2).

The circuit use only the ATF fluid ATF. Other lubricants cause damage to the hydraulic system control box.

O-rings set with the open side to the oil.

After installation, check the oil level ATF.

Butter

Bolts and nuts

Unscrew / tighten screws or nuts of covers and housings should be "criss-cross".

The tightening torques are given for lubricated bolts / screws and nuts.

Bolt thread, previously greased threaded varnish, clean with a wire brush. Then install the bolts with thread lacquer AMV 185 101 A1.

All threaded holes into which self-locking bolts are screwed / screws must be cleaned from the remnants of a threaded tap varnish. Otherwise, the next dismantling of the thread can be disrupted.

Self-locking nuts and bolts replace always.

Marking gearbox

An automatic transmission is set to 09D Allrad model Touareg.

Letter symbols are the gearbox on the nameplate at the bottom of the left side of the gearbox (Fig. 3.3).

Letter designations KP also present on the nameplate data of the vehicle.
