Replacing the camshaft seals

Withdrawal

Remove the timing belt and camshaft gears.

Remove the inner part of oil seal extractor 3240 a few turns of the outer part and lock with knurled screw.

Lubricate threaded head of a stripper with engine oil, and attach strongly pressing it, screw as far as possible in the packing.

Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part of extractor against camshaft until oil seal is not removed (Fig. 2.120).

Clamp the puller gland for flat edges in a vise. Tongs remove the gland.

Setting

Apply seal using mandrel 3241/1 and bolt 3241/6 and press in until it stops (Fig. 2.121).

Install the timing belt and camshaft gears.
