1. swinging alternately lift the engine and transmission assembly. At the same time have the right axle so that it is adjacent to the flange shaft of the gearbox. |
A warning To install the mounting bolts of the support units to the left on the body, you need a support pin bearing spindle motor and a removable tool (arrow) to establish exactly on the same line. Removable tool VW-3184 shoot only when the screws that secure the left support units will be tightened.

2. 4-cylinder engine: Screw guard exhaust pipe, fuel tank. |
3. Connect the front exhaust pipe with an additional muffler or catalytic converter (see. Subsection 2.19.1). |
4. Squeeze the two stabilizer connecting rods all the way up, to provide space for the exhaust pipe. |
5. Tighten the bearing bracket on the gearbox on rubber mounts to 65 Nm. |
6. If removed, install the electrical wiring and piping. |
7. Remove the removable tool VW-3184. |
8. Unscrew engine support VW 3230/3227. |
9. Install the speedometer drive shaft to the bearing housing right axle motor. |
10. Prior to 8/92 (the date of issuance of the box 08.09.92): - Install rear engine mounts, transmission without straining; - The bolts (A), tighten to 65 Nm (unless acted gearbox support); - The bolts (B), tighten to 45 Nm. A warning After replacing the transmission or repair must be re-measure the thickness of the compensation plate between the bracket and the gearbox housing. For this measure the distance between the console and a transmission and to establish between them a plate thickness of 0.5 mm or 1.0 mm. If the clearance is less than 0.5 mm, the plate is not installed.
|
11. 8/92 (date of manufacture of gearbox 08/10/92) established a modified rear transmission mount: - The holes (A) increased from 10 mm to 12 mm; - Old hexagonal screws M10 fastening of a support box on the bracket mounted units replaced with new hexagon screws M16 (C) - a new rear bearing box in older machines can not be installed. |
12. 8/92: - Install rear engine mounts, transmission without straining; - The bolts (A) torque to 100 Nm; - The bolts (B) to tighten the moment 40 Nm; - Screw (S) tighten to 270 Nm. |
13. Air conditioning: screw compressor. |
14. 4-cylinder engine: set the lower flywheel guard. |
15. 4-cylinder engine: to screw the screws that secure the engine-transmission of the bearing housing (tightening torque: screw M8 - 25 Nm M12 screw - 80 Nm). |
| 16. Bolts carrier transmission to the engine and tighten the bearing housing as follows: set screws (A) and (B). First, tighten the bolts (A) and then the screws (B). |
17. 5-cylinder engine: to install a generator. |
18. The diesel engine: to put on the brake booster vacuum hose to a vacuum pump. |
19. Secure the earth connection (-) Transmission-bearing bracket. |
20. Install the starter. |
21. Screw the screw shock absorber and stabilizer coupling rod to the right torque 160 Nm. |
22. Attach the right axle transmission. |
23. Install the left axle. |
24. Remove the reference tool VW-3250. |
25. 4-cylinder diesel engine: to establish and adjust the cables to the motor (see Fig. Subsection 2.17.5 and subsection 2.17.6). |
26. The petrol engine: Schlag install a vacuum brake booster engine. |
27. Tighten the screws that secure the engine-gearbox top. Tightening torques: M8 screw - 25 Nm; Screw M12 - 80 Nm. |
28. Attach the wiring to the pipeline. |
29. Screw the coolant pipe from the surge tank to the water pump, to the starter. |
30. Set the bracket on the drive shaft of the speedometer gearbox. |
31. The machine-driven clutch fasten clutch cable on the gearbox and transmission of the bearing bracket. |
32. Mechanical clutch: depress the clutch pedal up to the stop at least 5 times, and then check the operation of the adjusting device (see. Subsection 3.4). |
33. On machines with hydraulic coupling: Screw the slave cylinder to the transmission torque of 25 Nm. |
34. Remove the mounting pin or screw holes M8h22 of transmission and close the hole plug. |
35. Install and adjust the switching mechanism on the gearbox. |
36. reinsert the fixing of wiring to the coolant hoses. |
37. Connect, respectively, labels, tape, cable transmissions and a starter. |
38. Install the heat sink in place (see Fig. Subsection 2.16.2.1). |
39. Connect the earth cable (-) to the battery. A warning Connect the battery only when the ignition is switched off. Otherwise it fails control unit injection system.
|
40. Set the time on the clock. |
41. Put in place anti-theft radio code. |
