Removal and installation of the airbag module in the steering wheel

The procedure for removal of the module should be as follows:

- Disconnect the negative battery cable;

- Remove the two Torx screws at the rear of the module in the steering wheel;

- Disconnect and remove the module in the steering wheel;

- Connect tool 998 8695 (Fig. 7.35). This tool is used to start the engine at the time were not registered fault codes;

- Connect the negative cable to the battery.

To install the air bag in the steering wheel:

- Disconnect the negative battery cable;

- Connect the connector, pressing the lower part of the module to the steering wheel;

- Tighten the Torx screws to 10 Nm.

- Make sure that the module is securely attached;

- Connect the negative cable to the battery.
