Removing
Fix the clamps on the engine lifting device and lift it so that the engine weight was perceived by the load-lifting mechanism. Using the screwdriver blade as a lever, remove the caps from the central part of the drive wheels. On the car standing on wheels, loosen and remove the ten turns of the bolts securing the drive shaft to the front wheel hub. Remove the front wheels.

Before removing the sub-frame 3393 a special tool, check that the holes 1 and 2 combined (Fig. 12.16). Fix a transmission jack special tool VAG 1383, set the jack under the powertrain and lift so that the weight of the power unit was perceived by a jack.

Loosen nuts 3 and 4 (Fig. 12.17) and remove the earring of the stabilizer. 1 Remove the bolt securing the bottom of the retaining lever to the engine frame.

Remove the screws 1 (Fig. 12.18) of the lower frame support plates and bolts of the bottom frame 2. Remove the bolt 2 (see. Fig. 12.17) fixing the lower guide arm to the engine frame. To remove the bolts lower the rear part of the sub-frame. Remove the nut and remove the bolt 5 (see. Fig. 12.17) securing the lower shock absorber. Remove the ABS sensor from the knuckle and disconnect the sensor wires from the terminals. Remove the retaining and guide arms of the sub-frame and take them down. 6 Remove the bolts (see. Fig. 12.18) securing the front of the sub-frame. Remove the sub-frame.
