Check wheels
You will need: a pressure gauge, pump calliper.
HELPFUL HINTS Periodically check the tire pressure (tab. 4.2). High or low blood pressure leads to premature tire wear, poor handling and vehicle stability. We recommend using a foot pump with built-in pressure gauge. |
To tires wear evenly every 10 000 km rearrange wheel according to the scheme in Fig. 4.1. In addition, every 10 000 km balancing wheels and check the front axle. Please contact the service workshop.
Table 4.2 Tyre pressure *, kPa * The pressure in the tires are cold. If you can not measure the pressure in the tires are cold, must be added to the values specified in Table 20-30 kPa.
NOTE Tyre pressure indicated on the label on the inside cover of the glove compartment. |
WARNINGS All repair wire wheels in specialized workshops. Check that the wheel was renovated balanced. Operation with worn tread tires can lead to accidents. |
| | 1. Remove the cap from the valve. | 2. Check the air pressure in the tire. To do this, reset the gauge to zero by pressing a special button on the gauge, connect a pressure gauge to the valve, and click on the spool valve tip manometer. |
| | 3. If the pressure is less than desired, connect the hose to the valve and pump up the air by controlling the pressure on the pressure gauge. | 4. If the pressure is greater than desired, push a special projection gauge on the valve tip and let the air out of the tire. Measure the pressure gauge. By repeating these operations, bring the pressure back to normal. |
5. If you notice that tire pressure is constantly falling, try to tightly wrap the spool by a cap with the key.
NOTE It looks like the cap with the key to tighten the valve. |
A WARNING To avoid contamination of spools not operate the vehicle without protective caps. If the cap have been lost, be sure to install new ones. |
| | 6. To check the tightness of the valve, the valve hole wet. | 7. If there is an exhaust air bubbles, replace the valve by removing the problem using the cap with the key. |
| | 8. Measure the caliper residual tread depth. If the tread depth of 1.6 mm or less, replace the tire. | 9. If you do not have a caliper, the tread depth can be checked visually by the tire wear indicators in the form of continuous transverse stripes on the tread. |
NOTE The location indicators marked on the sidewall triangle or letters ?TWI?. |
| | 10. Remove the decorative cap ... | 11. ... and check the tightness of the wheel bolts. Tightening torque of the wheel bolts to 90 Nm. |
