Checking the tightness of the cooling system
Remove the radiator cap. Make sure that the coolant level reaches the filler neck. Install a device for creating and measuring the pressure in the radiator filler neck and create a pressure of 150 kPa. Hold this pressure for 2 minutes, checking the radiator hoses and connections for leaks.
A WARNING Coolant can be very hot. In this case, do not open the radiator cap, or hot coolant can splash out and cause burns. Before servicing the cooling system, allow the engine to cool down. Make sure that the moisture is completely removed from the audited units. When removing the device for creating and measuring pressure, try not to spill coolant from it. Be careful when installing and removing the device, as well as in testing - not deform the filler neck of the radiator. |
If there is leakage, repair or replace the appropriate part. A significant reduction in coolant level is likely indicative of the tightness seal. The sealed cooling system coolant level may be reduced if the motor overheats when the cooling liquid boils and is thrown out. When a large loss of coolant topping up should be carried out only on the engine has cooled down, to avoid breakage.
