Self-diagnostic system
The engine control unit controls the PCM input / output signals (some signals - always, and some - only under certain conditions). If the PCM detects any violation, it records the DTC and outputs the signal to the diagnostic connector. Faults can be read by a device Generic Scan Tool (GST) or Hi-Scan Pro. DTCs in the PCM remain as long as the wires are connected to the terminals of the battery. Diagnostic trouble codes are erased when you disconnect the wires from the battery terminals or the connector from the PCM or using the device Generic Scan Tool.
Check fault codes using the device Generic Scan Tool
WARNINGS If the battery voltage is too low, the DTC can not be read. Before reading, check battery voltage and charging system. The codes are erased when you disconnect the wires from the battery terminals and connectors from PCM. Do not disconnect the battery for as long as it will be read fault codes. |
Switch off the ignition. Connect the scanner to the diagnostic socket. Turn on the ignition. To test the diagnostic trouble codes using the instrument Hi-Scan Pro. In accordance with the fault codes and repair the faulty element. Erase DTCs. Disconnect the Hi-Scan Pro.
