Parking brake



A WARNING
If you frequently use the parking brake cables stretched his drive. If the parking brake is used infrequently, it can inhibit the wheel with only one side of the car.

Elements of the parking brake is shown in Fig. 6.31.
Remove the center console.
Disconnect the connector from the switch of a control lamp of a lay brake.
Remove the parking brake lever.

Remove the adjusting nut and remove the parking brake lever on the rope (Fig. 6.32).
Remove the rear seat cushion and remove the mat.
Remove the parking brake cable clamp and the plug.
Move forward central panel thermofilter central silencer.
Remove the bolt and washer and remove the clamp bracket.
Remove the wheel and brake drum.
Remove the rear hub assembly.
Remove the spring washers and locking finger pads.
Remove the clamp fixing the cable.
Disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake pads.
Pull the parking brake cable towards the bottom of the car.

Check
Check the operation of the parking brake.
Check for wear on the teeth and pawl ratchet parking brake lever.
Check the parking brake cable for ease of movement and damage.

Check the color identification labels handbrake cables and install them respectively to the left and right side of the vehicle (Fig. 6.33). Cable unlabeled or labeled in red for the left side, and the line labeled white or yellow - to the right.
When installing the spring pad to the mounting block, move the selector knob all the way back.

Insert the sleeve in the direction shown in Fig. 6.34.
Grease Universal grease SAE J310, NLGI ?��2 ratchet and pawl ratchet.
After installing the cable regulator to adjust the course of the handbrake lever.

Adjustment during maintenance
After replacement of the parking brake lever, adjust the cable by tightening the parking brake lever 4-5 times to complete the course.
After replacing a cable on vehicles with rear drum brakes, adjust the outer diameter of the brake pad to fit 227,6-228,1 mm.
After installing the brake drum, adjust the parking brake cables.

After replacing a cable on cars with rear disc brakes, remove the cap to adjust the hole and a screwdriver, turn the adjustment wheel in the direction of the arrow shown in Fig. 6.35, as long as the brake rotor starts to rotate by the torsional load of 3 kg.
5 Turn on the teeth in the direction of the arrow.
After replacing the brake pads drum brake, do the following:
- Lift the handbrake lever 4 prong (or force 9 kg);
- Take a ride on the car at a distance of about 400 meters at a speed of 50 km / h;
- Stop the car for 2 minutes;
- Again tour a distance of about 400 meters at a speed of 50 km / h;
- Check the parking brake lever stroke.

Adjust the parking brake stroke
Turn the adjusting nut counterclockwise to loosen the parking brake cable (see. Fig. 6.32).
Press the brake pedal 20 times with a force of 196 N (20 kg).
Turn the adjusting nut clockwise to tighten the parking brake cable (see. Fig. 6.32).
Pull up the parking brake lever with a force of about 196 N (20 kg) and count the number of clicks.
Course of the lever should be 8-9 clicks.
If the number of clicks is not correct, adjust the length of the cable using the adjusting nut on the jack.
The warning lamp goes out when the parking brake lever is fully depressed, and lights up when the lever is raised one click. If the lamp is not lit, replace it.
After the adjustment, check that the rear brakes are not braked when the parking brake lever is lowered.
