Check fluid level in automatic transmission
The hydraulic system of the automatic transmission model F4A42-2 used hydraulic fluid GENUIN DIAMOND ATF SP-III. The liquid volume - 7.8 liters. Make a control trip for transmission warming up to normal operating temperature (70-80 ? C). Place the vehicle on a level surface. Sequentially push the lever in each position - torque converter and hydraulic system is filled with liquid. Then, move the lever to position ?N? (neutral). Before removing the liquid level indicator (dipstick), wipe any dirt around it. Remove the dipstick and check the condition of the working fluid.
A WARNING If the working fluid has a burnt smell or contaminated with small particles may need to repair the automatic transmission. |
Visually check the fluid level, which should be at the mark "MUSIC" on the dipstick. If the fluid level is low, add fluid up to the mark "HOT".
A WARNING The low level of the liquid may cause various abnormal phenomena as the pump captures air together with the working fluid. Air introduced into the hydraulic system, forms bubbles, which are compressed. Consequently, the pressure occurring in the liquid to be uneven, resulting in a delay in switching a slipping clutch, brake and so on. D. Improper refilling the fluid level is too high, then the gear whipped foam and phenomenon occurs as when insufficient fluid. In any case, air bubbles can cause overheating and oxidation of the working fluid, which is fraught with violations of normal operation of valves, couplings and servos. Foaming may result in leakage of fluid from the vent the gearbox, which can be mistaken for a leak. |
Firmly insert the dipstick. Working fluid and oil filters must be replaced during the overhaul of the gearbox. It should be borne in mind that the oil filter - specific and are used only for the automatic transmission.
