general information
The transfer case is a device for transmitting the rotation of the engine front and rear driveshafts. The model is described in the manual car brand transfer case equipped with one of the following types, manufactured by New Process: - NR231 is a partial transfer case nepolnovremennogo type with reducing gear (Sleck-trac).
- NR242 is complete box nepolnovremennogo type with four modes of operation (Command-trec). Box provides a movement of the vehicle in both 2WD, 4WD and equipped with a locking mechanism and differentials when driving in the all-wheel drive mode to the step-down and step-up gears. Reduction gear provides increased power at low speeds of rotation.
- NR249 is an always-on transfer box with two modes of operation and the possibility of transfer to the neutral position (Quadra-trac). Secured modes include manual mode 4H and 4L (4L designed to develop high traction when towing a heavy trailer in off-road). The rotation of the engine is distributed between front and rear axle through a differential and viscous coupling, a part of the transfer case. NR249 is also equipped with a reduction gear to increase capacity during slow off-road.
