Repairing drive shaft



Drive shaft

1 - high collar;
2 - small collar;
3 - Dynamic damper;
4 - a protective cover;
5 - support rollers tripoidnogo connection;
6 - a lock ring;
7 - joint housing;
8 - a lock ring;
9 - a lock ring;
10 - drive shaft;
11 - a protective cover;
12 - outer CV joint.

Withdrawal


A warning

To avoid damage do not over tighten the drive shaft in a vise.

When disassembling and assembling eliminate dust and foreign particles inside the CV joints.

Do not remove the wheel-side constant velocity joints. Do not remove the grease of CV joints unnecessarily.

Do not remove the retaining ring fastening of a power shaft to a differential side gear.

If the snap ring is removed, it must be used when installing a new lock ring.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Secure the drive shaft in a vice with soft sponges. Avoid contact vise jaws with protective case and a collar of fastening of a protective cover.
2. Remove the large hose clamp protective cover. To remove the clip, you can cut it clippers. Slide the protective cover to the drive shaft.
3. Remove the wire ring keeping the bearing on the drive shaft.
4. Note the relative position of the support rollers tripoidnogo compound and casing the joint.

A warning

To mark the relative position of the support rollers tripoidnogo housing hinge connection and use a marker or paint, but do not use the core or punch.


5. Remove the hinge.
6. Note the relative position of the support rollers tripoidnogo connection and end of the drive shaft.
7. Remove the retaining ring fastening the support rollers tripoidnogo connection.
8. hammer through a brass core bring down support rollers tripoidnogo connection with the drive shaft.

A warning

When removing the bearing rollers tripoidnogo connection with the drive shaft, do not install a brass rod on the rollers.

If the dust cover is to be reused before removing the cover for its protection, wrap the drive shaft splines with tape.


9. If necessary, remove the small hose clamp and remove the protective cover from the drive shaft.

Check

Check the status of the following components:

1 - driveshaft for deformation and damage;

2 - the state and wear of the splines;

3 - backlash at the hinge;

4 - torn or damaged protective covers.

Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Combine the labels put before removal, and install the support rollers tripoidnogo connection to the drive shaft.
2. A hammer through a brass rod press in support of rollers tripoidnogo connection to the drive shaft.
3. Install the retaining ring fastening the support rollers tripoidnogo connection to the drive shaft.
4. Fill the inner cavity of the yoke 100 g of grease.
5. Install the hinge case on tripoidnoe connection and install wire retaining ring bearing on the drive shaft.
6. Install protective cover CV joints. Ensure that the protective cover is installed in the groove of the drive shaft and the housing hinge.
7. An edge of a flat screwdriver inserted under the protective cover, align the air pressure under the protective cover from the atmospheric pressure.
8. Install the new collars of fastening of a protective cover, wrap around covers terminals clockwise and tighten them with pliers bend the free ends of the straps.

A warning

Always use new clamps.

Tapes set collars so that their ends pointing right direction of rotation.


9. Special pliers tighten the belt clamps.

10. To ensure safety, bend the ends of the ribbons collars.
11. After assembly of the drive shaft check that the hinge is slid in the directions shown by the arrows. Check the protective covers on lubricant leaks or damage.
