Removing, Troubleshooting and installation of camshafts Engine
The camshaft is replaced in the following cases: - Decreased pressure in the engine lubrication system. The reason for this failure is often increased wear of necks of a camshaft and camshaft bearing seats in the cylinder head. When replacing worn head unit socket assembly as socket formed directly in its housing; - Knock valves at serviceable lash clearance in the valve mechanism. Result in increased wear of the cams of the camshaft from the use of low-quality motor oil or damage to the oil filter. 1. Disconnect a wire from the plug ?�-?� the storage battery. |

| | 14. ... and the cylinder head. If the surface of the bearings extremely damaged, replace the cylinder head or the camshaft bearing housing. | 15. Inspect the camshafts. On the thread in the holes for fixing the sprocket must not be damaged or worn. The surfaces of bearing journals 2 and the cam 1 should be well polished and free of damage. On the working surfaces of the necks 2 are not allowed bullies, nicks, scratches, envelopment of the aluminum bearing seats in the cylinder head. If the working surfaces of the cams 1 there are traces of jamming, overheating, deep risks or wear a cut, replace the shaft. |
A WARNING Grinding cams of a camshaft to eliminate the step wear prohibited, as when resizing the profile of the cam timing will be violated. |
16. Install the camshaft extreme tails on two prisms placed on the surface plate, and measure the run-out indicator medium necks. When a heartbeat more than 0.03 mm or replace the shaft misalignment necks as its editing is not allowed. |
17. Measure the height of a structure of cams (dimension between the top and the back of the cam) and compare with the nominal and maximum permissible size. Nominal size - 42.870 mm, the maximum allowable - 42,868 mm. When worn, exceeds the limit, replace the camshaft as the cam regrinding to repair size is not available. |
| 18. Measure the diameter of each support cervical camshaft bearing. Cervical measure at several points in both diameter and length (this will determine the roundness and taper, if any). The difference in the dimensions must not exceed 0.03 mm. If the diameter of the neck of any less than the limit, replace the camshaft. |
NOTE The nominal diameter of the base camshaft necks - 33.961 mm, the maximum allowable - 26.910 mm. |
19. Apply a thin layer of engine oil cervical and cams of camshafts and install them into the cylinder head. |
20. Clean the gasket surfaces of the sealant body camshaft bearing ... |
| | 21. ... and the cylinder head. | 22. Remove from the slots in the housing camshaft bearing seals, picked up a screwdriver. Replace ring irrespective of their condition. |
| 23. Before installing the camshaft bearing housing put on his mating surface of a thin layer of Loctite 574. |
WARNINGS When applying sealant to the mating surface of the housing camshaft bearing, make sure that the sealant does not hit the oil channels. The engine is allowed to start no earlier than 1 hour after application of the sealant. |
24. Install the camshaft bearing housing and tighten bolts of its fastening by the moment 11,2-14,2 Nm crosswise, starting with the middle legs. |
NOTE The case centered camshaft bearing bushings, pressed into his body. Before installing the enclosure, check their availability and the correct pressing. |
26. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. |
