The principle of the mechanism of automatic shift transmissions
The selector lever can be moved from position P only under the following conditions: - The brake pedal is pressed; - Button selector lever is pressed.

When the brake pedal is released, the slide pin is in the position shown in Figure 3.77 specified by the brake pedal. Thus, the slider is locked cam unit. In this position, the cable lock is locked and cam lock, the guide pin on the gear lever also moves from the occupied position. Moreover, the selector lever can not be moved into any position other than R. When the brake pedal is depressed, the slide pin moves freely in the direction B. The unit may also slide freely. Cable lock and cam lock is not blocked, so it is possible to transfer from the lever position P.
