Manual transmission
By car Mercedes Sprinter mounted five-speed transmission G 16-5 / 4.898, having the designation 711,603. Some versions use the CP type G 28-5. This designation will come in handy when replacing manual on used.
A warning At different stages of production in the manual were filled with different grades of oil. The KP numbers to 051,110 was used gear oil SAE 80, starting with the number 051 110 - oil grade SAE 75W85. The mixture of these oils is not allowed. When replacing the transmission oil must be poured the oil of the second mark. Thus it is necessary to completely drain the oil from the gearbox earlier mark. |

Transfers are included through the rod directly toggle lever. In Fig. 185 shows the shift patterns. Inside the manual switch gears carried rod, which connects through a separate plug couplings enable the gear transmission. The gearbox is connected to two electrical appliances - speedometer sensor switch and signal reverse. The signal transmitted by the speedometer, is removed from the driven bevel gear differential. Speedometer converts the received pulses and provides information on the speed. Switch directly involve reversing fork reverse gear. The torque transmitted through the clutch on the gearbox output shaft. It is located 1-5 gear driven gears and reverse gear. The gears are in contact with the gears of the intermediate shaft. If the shift lever is in neutral, the gears rotate freely. When the transfer of one of the pairs of gears connected to the shaft and the torque transmitted to the driven shaft gearbox. The ratio of teeth of pair of gears forms a reduction ratio. All transmissions except reverse gear, synchronized.
