1. If you find that the reception is faulty (traces of leaks of a working liquid on its surface, breakage or subsidence of the spring, the loss of efficiency of damping), it should be disassembled and repaired. By themselves, the rack can not be repaired and leaving the standing shock absorber should be changed, but replace the springs and relating thereto components needed in pairs (both sides of the vehicle). 2. Remove the rack (refer to Section Removal and installation of a forward support), place it on the work bench and clamp in a vice. Remove from the surface all the dirt it. | 3. Compress the spring using a puller, completely removing the pressure plate. Secure the remover on the spring (follow manufacturer's instructions puller). |
| 4. Hold the shock-absorber rod from rotating hex wrench, unscrew the nut on the stem. |
5. Remove the top support with ball bearing, then the spring plate, spring, cover and bump. 6. If you are going to install a new spring puller, carefully remove the old spring. If you are going to install the old spring, remove the extractor is not necessary. 7. After you have completely dismantled the rack, carefully inspect all of its components. Thrust bearing should rotate freely. If you notice signs of wear or damage of any component should be replaced. 8. Inspect the surface of the rack. It should not be a trace of the working fluid. Inspect the surface of the piston rod. It should be free of corrosion and damage. Place the rack vertically and check its performance by moving the first shock-absorber rod from lock to lock, then the short strokes of 50-100 mm. In both cases the displacement of the rod should be uniform. When jerks or jamming, as well as any other signs of failure should be replaced by a rack. | 9. Installation is performed in reverse sequence. Keep in mind the following:
a) Install the spring on the rack, making sure to ensure that it is correctly positioned on the bottom of the cup. b) Install the thrust bearing. c) Tighten the nut of the support bearing, putting the required effort. d) The springs should be placed so that the marks printed on them, are oriented downwards. |
