Charging System - general information and safety measures
The car is equipped with an alternator. When installing additional electrical equipment, make sure that the power generator was enough to power the equipment.
The drive generator is a ribbed belt from the engine crankshaft.
The generator is a three-phase synchronous electric car with electromagnetic excitation. To convert alternating current into direct current generator is integrated in the rectifier diodes. Voltage regulated microelectronic integrated voltage regulator. When the generator is an electric current flowing through the field winding creates around the poles of the rotor flux. When the rotor under each stator tooth passes the south, the north pole of the rotor and the working magnetic flux passing through the stator teeth, changes in size and voltage. This creates an alternating magnetic flux in the stator winding electromotive force. The wedge shape of the pole pieces of the rotor is selected in such a way to provide an electromotive force waveform close to a sine wave.
At high speed the rotor of the generator when the generator voltage is greater than the 13.6 - 14.6, the voltage regulator is locked and the current through the field winding does not pass. The voltage generator falls, the regulator opens and again passes a current through the field winding. The higher the speed of the rotor of the generator, the longer the controller locked state, therefore, the more decreases the output voltage of the generator. The process of locking and unlocking the controller comes with a high frequency, so the fluctuations in the output voltage of the generator is not visible, and you can almost consider it a constant, maintained at 13.6.- 14.6 V.
The charging system does not require periodic maintenance, but the drive belt, battery and cables with connectors must be serviced in accordance with the instructions in section 1 intervals.
When the ignition switch on the dashboard warning lamp should light up, signaling for the battery. It must be extinguished immediately after the engine starts. If she does not go out or lights up while driving, the charging system is faulty. If the lamp does not light when the ignition is then either burned out lamp itself, torn off its wiring or defective generator.
Security measures at work with a generator
Before carrying out any work on the charging system, review the following safety precautions:
| 1. Never remove the battery or voltage regulator when the engine and the generator running. 2. Never short terminal of the generator or the cable fixed to it at mass. 3. Never confuse wire voltage regulator. 4. Never operate the voltage regulator, if it is connected to weight (instant damage). 5. Never remove the generator if the battery is disconnected from the circuit. 6. When installing the battery, make sure that the negative terminal is connected to the mass. 7. Never use a voltage indicator, which is connected directly to the consumer network (110 or 220). Use only a 12 volt LED 8. Do not check diodes energizing more than 12 or Megger, as it has a too high voltage diodes and they at check will be punched (there will be a short circuit). When checking the insulation of the wiring Megger necessary to disconnect all wires from the generator. 9. If the battery is charged when installed charger, both battery cables must be disconnected. The positive terminal of the battery charger connected to the positive terminal of the battery and the negative terminal of the battery charger to the negative terminal of the battery. 10. Disconnect all the wires from the generator and battery when electric welding of any parts of the body. 11. Check the electrical circuits and components, and troubleshoot the engine stopped and the battery disconnected. 12. Improper wiring leads to the destruction of the rectifier and voltage regulator. |
