Removal, check of a condition and installation of the timing belt and tensioner
Withdrawal The components of the timing and details of fixing its covers are shown in the accompanying illustration.
| - Turn the crankshaft, the engine leading position TDC of the first cylinder. In this position the mark on the crankshaft pulley is aligned with the pointer on the timing belt cover and turn the spout of the distributor slider towards the location of the terminals BB spark plug wire of the first cylinder.
- Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
- Drain the cooling system and remove the heat sink and fan assembly.
- Remove the belts from pulleys steering pump, alternator and air conditioning compressor (if the last part of the vehicle).
- Give bolt crankshaft pulley. To lock the pulley against rotation, you can use the old drive belt and lever.
- With the help of a stripper remove the crankshaft pulley from the engine.
- Release explosive wires from clamps on the top cover of the timing belt.
- Disconnect hoses coal adsorber and distributor of pipes in front of the timing belt cover and slide them to the side, removing from the work area.
- Give fixing bolts of the upper timing belt cover and slide in the direction of explosive wires and remove the cover from the engine.
- Give fixing bolts and remove the bottom cover of the engine front timing belt.
- Remove the crankshaft gear guide plate timing belt and make sure to combine the distribution marks on gears with a response label on the case of the oil pump.
- If you intend to further use of the timing belt, mark the direction of rotation arrow. Also mark the location of the belt with respect to the distribution of labels of cogwheels cranked and distributive shaft.
- Loosen the lock nut tensioner timing belt tensioner and turn using a suitable key bar stock and re-secure it with a lock nut.
- Remove the belt from the gas distribution gear crankshaft and camshafts.
| After removal of the timing belt does not allow rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft to avoid damage to the pistons and valves when hitting them against each other. |
- Give the timing belt tensioner lock nut and remove the tensioner spring with the engine. Try to remember how to install the undulating and flat washers tensioner.
- Remove the cylinder head cover and loosen the bolts axes rocker. This procedure is necessary for the proper tension of the timing belt when installing it.
|
|
Checking the Status | - Clean gas distribution belt tensioner components with a clean dry cloth.
- Inspect the belt for typical defects (see. Accompanying illustration).
- Check the tensioner spring for signs of wear, deformation and other damages.
- Manually check free rotation of the tensioning pulley, thereby assessing the state of its bearings.
- Check the condition of the contact surface of the tension roller.
- Check for damaged fixing bolts.
- Replace all worn or defective parts.
|
|
Setting | - Make sure the engine is still in the position TDC of the first cylinder. If necessary, Correct the position of the crankshaft.
- Make sure the guide pin on the camshaft is at the top of its movement diagram.
- Install the tensioner spring at the front of the cylinder. Make sure that the end of the spring engages with a pin so as to as to maintain a belt tension.
- Set first a flat washer, then a corrugated (concave side tensioner). With the help of bar pull the wrench tensioning pulley away from the belt and temporarily tighten the locknut.
| - If you are installing a new belt, it must be equipped with landing marks. Otherwise, mark one of the recesses between the teeth of the belt and count back from this position of the recess 53. Mark is also the 53rd slot (see. Accompanying illustration).
|
| When reusing belt should comply with the same direction of rotation. |
- Put the belt on the gas distribution gears distributive and cranked shaft, having tracked combination of labels on a belt with labels on wheels and observance of the right rotating belt (if installed old).
- Loosen the lock nut tensioner and allow the latter to tighten the belt.
| Fastening bolts rocker assembly must be diluted as mentioned above, or the tensile force of the belt will not be correct. |
- With the help of bar key tensioner shake two or three times in both directions, ensuring the adequacy of belt force.
- By blocking the tensioner in this position Prutkov key, tighten the lock nut with demanded effort.
| To avoid noise and / or accelerated wear of the belt, do not install the tension force greater than the force exerted by a spring tensioner. |
- When located at the top of its stroke diagrams of the guide pin of the camshaft rockers tighten bolts axes of the fourth, fifth and sixth cylinders with demanded effort.
- Using a wrench, worn by the crankshaft pulley bolt, rotate the engine clockwise so that the guide pin down into the lower its position. Now tighten the bolts to the required torque axes rocker first, second and third cylinders.
- For the last check on the engine crank clockwise, returning the guide pin of the camshaft to the highest position and make sure the screws are tightened all the axes of the rocker arm with demanded effort.
- Install guide plate timing belt on the crankshaft pulley, concave side facing outward. Install the upper and lower timing belt cover. Track correctness of installation of seals. Tighten with demanded effort fixing bolts.
- Install the cylinder head cover.
- The remaining components are installed in the reverse order of their disassembly, paying attention to the following points:
- Pulley water pump, fan and radiator cooling system must be installed according to the instructions;
- Adjust the belt tension.
