Replacement seals crankshaft

To perform the work described below require remover (for removing the crankshaft pulley).

Front oil seal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Drain the cooling system and remove the radiator.
  3. Remove the belts from pulleys steering pump, alternator and air conditioning compressor (if the last part of the vehicle).
  4. Give bolt crankshaft pulley. Block pulley from turning possible using the old drive belt and the right arm.
  5. Using a special puller (for removing vibration damper), remove the engine crankshaft pulley.
  6. Remove the gas distribution belt.
  7. Remove the pins of the crankshaft gear and the rear guide plate timing belt.
  8. Remove the key from the trunnion shaft gear.

If the key is not removed, then when removing the oil pump oil seal is damaged.

  1. Give bolts of the oil pump to the engine block. Tapping the bottom of the inner surface of the pump, remove it from the stud of the crankshaft. Discard the gasket.
  2. Using a special puller or a flat-blade screwdriver, carefully remove the oil seal, taking care not to damage the pump.
  3. Check the cleanliness of the nest landing gland, lightly grease the new oil seal on the perimeter sealant. Put the gland into the slot flush with the end face of the pump housing.

Oil seal should be installed to the engine main sponges and flush with the body of the oil pump.

  1. Coat both sides of the sealing gasket of the new pump.
  2. Lightly oil the oil seal lips and slide the pump assembly on a pin of the crankshaft, making sure to properly flats internal gear engaging the crankshaft.
  3. Align the pump assembly and its gasket on the engine block and tighten the mounting bolts. Tighten bolts to 9 ÷ 11.8 Nm.
  4. Check the condition of the surface in contact with the shaft seal crankshaft pulley, using sandpaper to remove small defects in the form of barbs, scuffing and scratching. In case of deep lesions pulley should be reductively repair or replaced.
  5. Apply a thin layer of sealant around the perimeter of the inner surface of the crankshaft pulley, and set the pulley onto the shaft by lightly tapping with a soft mallet striker. Coat the threads and sealing washer the mounting bolts, screw bolts and tighten them with a force of 142 ÷ 152 Nm.
  6. Fill the cooling system, start the engine and check for leaks.

Rear oil seal

To provide access to the crankshaft rear oil seal is necessary to remove the engine or transmission. The choice is left to the performer, depending on the availability of the necessary lifting equipment.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove the engine from the car, or remove transmission.
  3. Remove the flywheel clutch.
  4. Remove the engine oil pan.
  5. Remove the engine oil pan.
  6. Give fixing bolts and remove the motor holder crankshaft rear oil seal (the components are shown in the accompanying illustration). Remove from the holder of all traces of liquid gasket.
1 - Bolts
2 - gland
3 - the holder
  1. Place the holder on a pair of wooden blocks and knock him out of the oil seal with a suitable punch and hammer.
  2. Lightly oil the new packing and plant it in the holder using a suitable mandrel or a piece of wood.

Gland main jaws must be mounted to the motor and flush with the outer surface of the holder.

  1. Place cushion into the groove of the sealant section Ø 2 ÷ 3 mm and push the holder assembly to the engine. In several stages, tighten the fixing bolts with effort 21 ÷ 26 Nm.

Before starting the engine Wait at least an hour, thereby allowing the sealant to harden properly.

  1. Operating in reverse order than when removing install all removed parts.
