Checking the status of the tire and the pressure therein

Weekly or every 400 kilometers (whichever comes first)

Regular inspection of the tires allow you to avoid the troubles connected with stops along the way for later: the wheel. In addition, such tests provide valuable information about possible problems with steering and suspension until them serious damage.

Tires have built-tread wear indicator bars, which are exposed at lower tread depth to 1.6 mm, after which the tire is worn out. This value represents the minimum allowable tread depth; in most cases it is recommended to replace the tire tread depth is 2 mm or less. Tread depth can also be determined by a simple and inexpensive device, known as a tread depth gauge.

In order to determine tire wear tread depth gauge, use-they are sold in shops of automobile accessories and service stations and are very inexpensive.

Pay attention to any unusual deterioration of protectors. Such defects protector as cavities, convexity flattening and stronger deterioration on the one hand indicate the violation of the angles of the front wheels and / or wheel balancing. At revealing any of the following defects should seek to adjust to the tire shops.

Carefully check the tire for cuts, punctures and got stuck nails or buttons. Sometimes after puncturing tires nail it for a while hold pressure or lowers very slowly. If you suspect the presence of such "slow puncture", first check the tightness of the pump nipple valve. Then inspect the tread for the presence of foreign objects stuck or embedded earlier puncture, start again to pass air. If you suspect that there is a puncture, to make sure his presence is possible, moistened suspected site with soap and water. If you have a leak solution begins to bubble. If the puncture is not too big bus can usually be repaired in any tire shop.

If you suspect that there is a "slow puncture", first check the tightness of the pin.
If the nipple is tight, Poddomkratte car and sprinkle soap solution to tread slowly turning the wheel - in the puncture site appear small bubbles.

Carefully examine internal lateral surfaces of tires on presence on them of signs of leak of brake fluid. If any, immediately check the brake system.

Maintaining proper tire pressure increases their service life, saves fuel and improves the overall ride quality. To check the pressure you need a special gauge.

Always keep the pressure gauge in your glove compartment. Gauges built into air hose nozzle at service stations are often inaccurate.

Always check the pressure on cold tires (ie. E. Before traveling by car). If you check the pressure in the tires warm or heated, it will lead to an overestimation of the pressure gauge because of the thermal expansion of tires. In this case, you should never lower the pressure, t. To. After cooling, the tire it will be below normal.

Unscrew the cap from the valve of the pump, the speaker of the drive wheel or hub cap, and then firmly press the gauge to the valve nozzle. Consider instrument readings and compare them with recommended in Specifications. Do not forget to replace the cap to prevent entry into the mechanism of the pin dirt and moisture. Check the pressure in all four tires and refill if necessary them to the recommended pressure value.

To prolong the life of tires, check the pressure in them at least once a week with an accurate meter (do not forget the spare wheel!).

Do not forget to maintain the required pressure in the spare wheel.

Examples of typical wear of tire treads

Side wear

Insufficient pressure (wear on both sides)

Insufficient pressure in the tire causes its overheating due to excessive movement during deflection, whereby the tread is not sufficiently pressed against the surface of the road. This leads to a loss of grip and excessive wear of the tread, not to mention the danger of leaving tire failure due to overheating.

Check and adjust the pressure.

Wrong disorder of wheels (deterioration on the one hand)

Repair or replace suspension parts.

Too sharp turns

Slow down!

Central wear

Overpressure

Excessive tire pressure leads to accelerated wear of the central part of the tread, reduced grip, tighter traffic and increase the danger of fatal damage of a slope. Check and adjust the pressure. If you have to pump up tires for transportation of heavy goods to the specified for this purpose in the Specifications pressures, do not forget after that to pit it at transition in normal operation.

Uneven wear

Front tire may wear unevenly as a result of violations of wheel alignment. Check and adjust the angles of the can for a small fee in most tire shops.

Wrong collapse or Coast

Repair or replace suspension parts.

Defect suspension

Repair or replace suspension parts.

Unbalanced wheel

Make balancing of wheels.

Improperly installed convergence of front wheels

Align the front wheels.

Obtrepannost edges of the tread pattern is a sign of wear and tear, it is best detected by touch.
