Countershaft

The procedure for removal and replacement, if necessary, an intermediate shaft assumes that the engine is removed from the vehicle, remove the belt drive camshaft sprocket intermediate shaft. Before removing the shaft it is recommended to check the axial play. To do this, the dial gauge to the cylinder block so that it is parallel to the probe axis of the intermediate shaft. Compare the result with the range of acceptable values (see. Table. 2.8) and, if necessary, replace the shaft. Removing / installing the intermediate shaft is held in the following order:

- Release the fastening screws and remove the intermediate shaft;

- Remove the sealing sleeve, remove the cap of the intermediate shaft seal ring;

- Remove the intermediate shaft of the cylinder and inspect the gear drive additional devices at the end of the shaft. Also, inspect the gasket sealing surface of the shaft sleeve for scoring or damage. If on the teeth or shaft surface, there are signs of wear or damage, it must be replaced;

- Generously grease the bearing surface of the intermediate shaft and the driving gear with clean engine oil and install the shaft in the cylinder block;

- Press in new sealing sleeve in the cover, locking the intermediate shaft, put the new O-ring;

- Replace the cover of the intermediate shaft, lubricate the inside of the seal with clean engine oil. Make sure the correct position of the sealing ring, screw lid fixing screws, tighten them with the proper effort;

- Make sure rotates freely intermediate shaft.
