Safety when handling the converter
Neutralizer intended to reduce emissions of pollutants. It comprises ceramic blocks with a plurality of pores, coated catalysts afterburning (platinum, palladium and rhodium). While working intensively converter heats up, so do not leave the car in a place where it may be under flammable objects (fallen leaves, needles, tall grass), spilled oil or fuel. Protect the converter from shock and mechanical damage, such as when traveling on bad roads or crossing "speed bumps." Maintenance does not require a converter. The resource converter is 80 000-150 000 km.
Gasoline engines Converter and oxygen sensor sensitive to lead compounds. Therefore strictly prohibited to work the car (even short-term) on leaded gasoline. Perform regular maintenance of the vehicle, particularly the fuel system and engine ignition. Do not allow fuel to the converter, for example, when you try to start the engine by towing. With the engine running at high speed do not turn off the ignition. Sulphur smell of exhaust gas can occur when you install a new catalyst (after a while it disappears), or the operation of a vehicle on gasoline with high sulfur content.
Diesel engines Do not drive the vehicle if the engine consumes a lot of oil or exhaust have a bluish tint. Only use the fuel additive or oil, which indicates that they can be used on engines equipped with catalytic converter.
