Inspection of the crankshaft
Inspection of the crankshaft is performed as follows: - Perform the cleaning of the crankshaft. Check the oil channels, if necessary, follow them purge; - Inspect and crankpins looking for wear, cracks, galling, galvanic corrosion. If such signs are detected, follow crankshaft grinding profiled service station. In this case it will be necessary to install new liners corresponding repair size; - Using a micrometer, measure the diameter of each of the bearing journals in several places. If measurements are made at intervals of 90 ?, give different diameters, this means the presence of a radical neck roundness. Mismatch diameters measured at different points along the length of the crank journal, indicates the presence of the taper of the neck. As in the previous case, the required grinding followed by the installation of oversize liners; - Check the surface mating with the sealing sleeves of the crankshaft. If they are bullies or significant damage, contact a professional for advice on the suitability for further use of the crankshaft; - Using V-shaped prism and perform measurement dial gauge radial runout of the crankshaft. The maximum permissible value of the radial run-out is less than 0.05 mm. If the runout exceeds the limit, contact a professional for advice on the suitability of the crankshaft for further use.
