Remove spring strut
Removing the spring strut is conducted as follows: - Loosen the wheel nuts and bolt the drive shaft (if there must be disassembled shock absorber). Loosen the bolt of the drive shaft (the total weight of the vehicle should not fall on the wheel bearing); - To establish an emphasis under back wheels; - Lift the car and establish it on support; - Remove the front wheel; - Remove the brake hose from the shock absorber; - Remove the wheel speed sensor ABS system; - Mark the position of the eccentric bolts and remove them; - Disconnect drives the front wheels;

- Install the shock absorber rod nut and a special key (Volkswagen 3186) holding the rod when loosening the nut (Fig. 6.1);
NOTE Instead, you can use a special key and hexagon ring spanner. |

- Remove the top nut 1 (Fig. 6.2) fastening spring strut; - Remove the spring strut.
