Removal and installation of the hinge suspension
Withdrawal Remove the hex bolt of the drive shaft. Remove the wheel. Remove the nuts. Gently pull out the drive shaft from the hub. Remove the hinge of the lever. Tilt the lever down as far as necessary.
Install the ball joint remover, as shown in Figure 4.45, and press out the hinge.
NOTE Place a rack for the engine and gearbox or similar (risk of injury from falling parts when pressing out the hinge). To protect the threads leave the nut on the hinge by turning it into multiple threads. |
Setting Insert the hinge in the wheel bearing housing. Insert the drive shaft into the wheel hub. Screw new self-locking nuts, as a counter support to use the internal Torx. Tighten the nuts.
NOTE Check for damage and twisting the boot. Install and tighten the wheel torque. Tighten the hexagon screw of the drive shaft. |
NOTE The vehicle should not stand on wheels, otherwise the wheel bearing will be damaged. |
