Check and adjust the steering mechanism

The procedure for checking and adjusting the following:

- Remove the steering;

- Tighten the nut to 15 Nm; wherein the steering mechanism should be in a central position;

- Set the mandrel 999 5053 pinion shaft (Fig. 7.26);

- Turn gear segment from stop to stop several times with a torque wrench 999 8081;

- Turn the nut to 30-60 ?�.

- Measure the preload, it should be 0.6-1.4 Nm; adjust the tightness by turning the nut to 30-60 ?�.

- Replace the lock plate, tighten the lock nut;

- Establish the case of the steering mechanism.
