Steering Gear Replacement



The steering mechanism is removed for repair or replacement, as well as for the replacement of the damaged protective cover. However, note that the steering mechanism - an essential element in ensuring traffic safety. Poor repair mechanisms can lead to serious consequences, so if you need to repair it only in a specialized workshop or replaced.
NOTE
To remove the steering mechanism for the replacement can be assembled in a steering rods (extruded rod tips of the fingers pivot arms telescopic racks), and without them.
The work shows a detachment from the steering gear mechanism.

You will need: the keys "12", "16" face head "12".
1. Place the vehicle on a pit and brake the parking brake.
2. Adjust the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position of the vehicle.
3. Loosen the bolts of the left front wheel.
4. Poddomkratte and set to support a forward part of the car.
5. In the passenger compartment under the dashboard, remove the screw terminal connections flange coupling with shank pinion shaft of the steering mechanism.
6. Remove the locking plate, remove the two bolts to the steering gear pinion steering mechanism (see. "Replacement steering rod") ...

HELPFUL ADVICE
Screw (without tightening), one of the bolts back into the rail to the guide bar is not moved relative to the rail.

7. ... remove the base plate and two goals.
8. Remove the two nuts hydraulic lines (larger diameter) to the body of the distributor and move the steering lines to the side (only on vehicles equipped with a hydraulic power steering).

A WARNING
Take measures to prevent leakage of hydraulic fluid from the pipelines, drowning them, such as wooden plugs.

9. Remove the upper mounting bolt and nut of the bottom bracket.
10. Similarly, remove the screw and unscrew the nut of the second bracket of the steering mechanism.
A WARNING
Self-locking nuts are not suitable for reuse in assembling replace them with new.

11. Move the steering in the direction of the engine, remove its rubber seal ...
12. ... and remove the steering mechanism of a vehicle, taking it through the opening in the niche left wheel.
13. Remove the bracket ...
14. ... and rubber feet.
15. Remove the two nuts securing the tubes.
16. bokorezy snack seal retaining clamp and remove the clamp (at the clamp assembly, replace the new one) ...
17. ... and grommet. Similarly, remove the collar and sleeve at the opposite end of the housing ...
18. ... and remove the protective cover.

19. Establish and steering parts in reverse order of removal. When installing the steering note that the rake is in the middle (neutral) position, the size of A (Fig. 8.4) between the axis of symmetry of the heads of steering drafts and deepening the seat left rubber support is 325 mm and the steering wheel position corresponds to straight-ahead . This coupling bolt 2 (Fig. 8.5), terminal connection flange couplings with a shaft of the shaft of the steering wheel must be in a horizontal position on top of the steering shaft.

20. Bleed the power steering system, see "Bleeding the power steering"
21. Check and adjust the angles of the front wheels (see. "Check and adjust wheel alignment").
