Removing, Troubleshooting and installation of a camshaft
The camshaft is mounted in a separate housing fixed to the cylinder head by the same bolts as the head on the block. Therefore, for the replacement of the camshaft is required unscrew the bolts and remove the cylinder head with the camshaft. You will need: the same tools as for the removal of the timing belt (see. "Replacing and adjusting the tension of the timing belt and its replacement by a tension roller"), the rear timing cover (see. "Removing and installing oil pump" ), the cylinder head cover (cm. "Replacement gasket cylinder head cover") and the head end member "13", the keys "12", "14", "19", the torque wrench. | | | 3. Remove the three mounting bolts of the ignition coil to the body of the camshaft ... |
4. ... and remove the bracket.
NOTE Under mounting bracket ignition coils installed rubber O-ring. Strong compression, hardened or torn, replace the ring. |
| | 5. Loosen the hose clamp on the feeding of crankcase ventilation ... | 6. ... and disconnect the hose from the pipe casing of a camshaft. |
| | 8. Loosen the two bolts securing camshaft thrust flange. | 9. Loosen and remove the timing belt from the camshaft pulley (see. "Replacing and adjusting the tension of the timing belt and its replacement by a tension roller"). |

12. Remove the ten bolts securing the cylinder head to the block in the reverse order shown in Fig. 5.4, in three steps: Remove the screws on the half-turn, turn the bolts another half turn, finally, remove the bolts.
A WARNING Bolts cylinder head is possible to turn on only the engine is cold. |
13. Remove the bolts and remove the camshaft. 14. Remove the two screws securing the final thrust flange camshaft, camshaft slide back and remove the flange. 15. Remove the camshaft from the housing, pushing it back.
A WARNING When removing the camshaft from the housing, be careful not to damage the surface of the sharp-edged jaws supports a neck of a camshaft. |
16. Inspect the camshaft. On the keyway and threaded shaft on the toe should not be damage and wear, and in the groove under the thrust flange - traces of excessive wear or nicks. The surfaces of the cams and bearing journals must be well polished without damage. If there are traces of jamming, overheating, deep risks or step wear, replace the shaft.
A WARNING Grinding cams of a camshaft to eliminate the step wear prohibited, as when resizing the profile of the cam timing will be violated. |
17. Measure the diameters of the bearing journals and camshaft bearings, calculate the bearing clearances shaft determines the difference between the diameters of the bearings in the cylinder head and the diameters of the necks (tab. 5.1). When worn, exceeded, replace the camshaft as regrinding necks to repair size is not available.

18. Install the camshaft extreme tails on two prisms placed on the surface plate, and measure the run-out indicator medium necks. When a heartbeat more than 0.02 mm or replace the shaft misalignment necks as its editing is not allowed.
A WARNING When installing a new camshaft levers valve replaced. Before the first start of the engine and to improve the conditions in the break-in is recommended to add engine oil with anti-anti-friction additive. |
19. Install the oiled camshaft in its case and secure the thrust flange.
NOTES Cylinder head gasket is required to replace the new one. Before installing, apply sealant to the entire surface of the mating surface of the camshaft to the cylinder head. |
22. Adjust the tension of the timing belt (see. "Replacing and adjusting the tension of the timing belt and its replacement by a tension roller"). 23. Install all previously removed parts in reverse order of removal.
