7. Inspect the input shaft and the gear unit. The working surfaces of gear teeth should not have chips, traces of wear and chipping, the ends of the slots gears - chipping, chipping and jams. Bearings, lubricated with gear oil, should rotate easily, without noise, knocking and seizing. The surfaces of the rolling elements must not have any trace of fatigue failures.
