Check the specific gravity of the electrolyte

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The proportion of the electrolyte of the battery changes with temperature. Increasing temperature leads to a decrease of the specific weight and vice versa.
2. The proportion of the electrolyte fully charged battery should be between 1,260 and 1,280 at a temperature of 26,7 ? C. Adjustment of specific gravity should be carried out by the addition of 0.04 points for each above 5,56 ? C temperature of 26,7 ? C or subtracting 0.04 points for every 5,56 ? C below the temperature of 26,7 ? C.
For example:

Indications hydrometer - 1,280 at a temperature of 5.56 ? C.

In accordance with the difference in temperature, adjust the specific gravity of 0.028 points. The true specific gravity of 1.252.
1,280-0,028 = 1,252

A warning

The difference in the specific gravity of the electrolyte 50 or more points between the banks of the battery indicates that the battery is faulty and should be replaced.
