Checking the pull-in winding traction relay

Disconnect the field coil wire from terminal "M" pulling the relay.

Connect the wires from the terminals 12 V battery to the terminals ?�S?� (+) and ?�M?� (-) magnetic switch (Fig. 7.58).

ATTENTION

This test must be carried out quickly, no more than 10 seconds, to prevent the coil from burning starter.

If the pinion gear is put forward, which draws means winding traction relay is OK. If the pinion gear does not extend, replace magnetic switch.
