Substitution fluid in an automatic transmission
The engine must be running at idle, the selector lever is in position ?N?. Replace the fluid in the gearbox follows. Disconnect the hose connecting the transmission and the oil cooler (radiator side). Start up the engine and wait until the liquid is drained.
A WARNING The engine must be stopped after 1 min. When all the liquid is drained after 1 minute, stop the engine at that moment. |
Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the gearbox and drain the liquid. Screw plug with gasket and tighten to 32 Nm. Fill with new fluid through the filler tube.
A WARNING Stop fill liquid if the entire volume can not be filled in the gearbox. |
Start up the engine and wait until the liquid is drained.
A WARNING Check out the old fluid for contamination. If the fluid is contaminated, pour fresh fluid through the inlet pipe, start up the engine and wait until the liquid is drained. |
Fill with fresh fluid through the filler tube. Connect a hose that was previously disconnected, and securely insert the dipstick. Start up the engine and let it run for 1-2 minutes at idling speed. With the engine running, move the selector lever out of position ?N? alternately in all positions and return to position ?N?. Take a trip to a warm-up transmission to temperature 70-80 ? C, and then check the fluid level, which should be about a label ?HOT?. Firmly insert the dipstick.
