Removal and installation of the distributor
Withdrawal Setting | If the crankshaft for any reason (or without) turned after removal of the distributor from the engine cylinder before the piston of the first assembly should be actuated to TDC. This can be done about it by defining touch points in the increase of pressure in the spark plug hole of the cylinder during the rotation of the crankshaft. After the appearance of the compression pressure should achieve zero alignment with the edge of the distribution scale pointer. |
| - Replace the distributor housing O-ring.
- Insert the valve in the cylinder head, orient it absolutely as before removal (see. Landing marks).
| Note that the volume of 4.0 liter engine equipped with a distributor clamping bolt which can be screwed into the engine block uniquely. When lowering the distributor to your place a little slider rotated. This must be taken into account when installing the housing. On engines volume of 5.2 l rotate slider before administration of the distributor to the engine so that it faces turned to the label on the spout body (CYL number 1). |
| The alignment mark position of the slider with respect to the label of the camshaft sensor on the distributor. |
- Make the right combination of landing labels the base of the distributor and the cylinder head. Also check whether the slider is turned to the mark on the distributor housing during dismantling.
- Freely screw clamp bolt (s).
- Further installation is made in the reverse order of removal. Check the ignition timing (Chapter Settings and maintenance) and tighten the clamp bolt (s).
