Removal of sealant
After removing the mounting bolts and nuts, use a suitable tool to remove the sealant (Fig. 2.87).

Remove sealant as carefully as possible to the surfaces of the grooves and holes in the mounting screws with a suitable tool, such as a scraper. If necessary, slightly heat the surface and remove particles of dried sealant with a piece of cloth soaked with gasoline.
Try to use a proprietary sealant or equivalent. After the installation of a new sealant, wait 5 minutes and set the associated components. Remove excess sealant with a piece of matter. Tighten mounting bolts.
