Removal and installation of the chain tensioner camshaft drive
Chain tensioner located on the side on the right side of the cylinder head. The effort to create a chain tensioner spring force and the pressure of the engine oil. Oil contained in the device for tensioning the chain, also serves as a damper shocks caused by choppy chain during engine operation. Chain tensioner can not be repaired, so in case of failures in the work must be replaced with a new one.

Chain tensioner can easily be removed, but it is recommended to get a hand press for subsequent mounting the tensioner on the engine. It can also come in handy tabletop drill press. On the tube there are two tensioner hex-key: large and small. A wrench is necessary only to unscrew the large hexagon. If you start to unscrew a small hexagon, the chain tensioner can disintegrate inside apart. In Fig. 97 shows the location of the plug on the chain tensioner is mounted on the car engine. In case of doubt in good tensioner should be replaced. Before installing the new tensioner it should be filled with oil. For this it is necessary to lower the push rod tensioner in a vessel with engine oil. The oil level must reach the mark of the flange hexagon. Then put the vessel with its integrated tensioner by hand press (or table drilling machine) and put pressure on the push pin to the stop 7-10.

After filling tensioner oil should be checked compression: it should be done slowly, evenly, and only with a specific application efforts. After that you should put the gasket and install the tensioner to its place in the engine. Tightening torque should be 80 Nm. The push rod tensioner should sit on the tensioning shoe, as shown in Fig. 96.
