Camshaft

The camshaft opens and closes the valves in accordance with the working processes occurring in the engine cylinders. Each valve is operated by a hydraulic tappet clearance compensator provided with the valve and actuated by a cam of a camshaft. A camshaft in turn actuated by the crankshaft via a chain drive. On the four-cylinder engines installed 5 support, and six-cylinder engines - 6-bearing camshafts, having the same diameter - 31 mm. The lower part of the camshaft bearing formed directly in the body of the cylinder head body. By axial displacement camshaft is held by a snap ring fixed on the cylinder head in a special groove in the end face of the cylinder head. On the flange of the camshaft is made of risk, noting TDC of first cylinder. Next to this is the identification number of the notch of the camshaft. Using this number and specifications of the spare parts you can choose the desired camshaft.
