- If the pistons are set back to the engine, carefully remove the piston rings, each of them apart just enough to remove the bridge between the grooves through the body of the piston.
- To prevent falling rings in a groove positioned above, it is recommended to insert two or three narrow strips of tin (old plate probe) under the ring at equal distances from each other, and then ring twisted together with the piston.
- Clean the grooves and rings of a deposit so as not to scratch the aluminum surface of the piston.
- If you install new rings, the top compression ring must have a stepped shape to avoid it hitting the "wear ring", which was formed at the top of the cylinder bore.
- Before final installation of rings on the pistons, measure the end gap rings. These clearances must conform to the technical requirements.
- Test the probe backlash rings on compliance. If the gap is too large, replace the piston, as its groove worn in height.
- Set the rings and expand their locks evenly around the circumference of the piston (120 ?).
