Troubleshooting - General Information
When a fault is detected automatic transmission, first check the fluid level (refer to Section Checking the oil level automatic transmission). If the level is insufficient, check all seals. Carefully inspect all hoses are related to the transmission fluid, and coolant and check for any signs of leaks. The only thing You can do yourself - is to check and, if necessary, replace the sensor, related to the box (temperature and speed). Before you replace a sensor, perform the reading of fault codes from the control unit.
With a relatively serious damage to the system control box goes into safe mode operation, recording with the corresponding code (or codes) in the memory of the control unit. Codes can be considered with the help of special equipment.
In the absence of such, determine the nature of the fault (electrical or mechanical).
Do not try to remove a box, because diagnosis is performed only on mounted on the engine box.
