Substitution coolant
 | Replacement of the coolant should be made on a cold engine. |
| - Remove the radiator cap and detach the lower hose. Try to avoid contact with the coolant on drive belts.
| - Remove the expansion tank and eventually drain the coolant. To do this, remove the mounting block of the relay, disconnect the expansion tank from fan cowl and pull the tank up to the force applied in the direction to the left side of the car.
|
- Check the coolant for the presence of particles of dirt and rust, as well as pay attention to the color of the coolant. If necessary, clean the cooling system.
- Install the expansion tank and connect the lower radiator hose.
| - Disconnect the heater hose and hold the hose end on the same height.
|
- Slowly fill the radiator and coolant expansion tank so that it will start to flow out of a hose heater. Then connect a hose heater and completely fill the system.
- Close the radiator cap and warm up the engine before opening the thermostat. This can be determined by heating the upper radiator hose.
- Turn off the engine and let it cool down to a temperature of 50 degrees. Remove the radiator cap, check the coolant level and correct it if necessary (see. Section Check of levels of liquids, the control of leaks), bringing to the ?MAX? mark in the expansion tank.
- Check the cooling system for leaks. Run the engine for 30 seconds at the speed of 1000 rev / min and then gradually increase the engine speed to 3000 rev / min. Repeat this procedure three times and make sure that the sound of running water is not heard from the radiator heater.
- If this sound is the case, repeat the procedure from step 5.
