Checking the status of the internal components

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Rinse all components with solvent and dry with compressed air. Make sure that the mating surfaces with a gearbox housing have been completely removed all traces of the old sealant.
  2. Check the condition of all the shafts and gears. Replace worn or damaged components.
  3. Check drive chain for cracks, signs of wear or damage.
  4. Inspect the bearings for signs of wear or damage. Check the freedom of their rotation.
  5. Check the condition of moving the synchronizer key and spring.
  1. Check synchronizer ring for cracks, deformation and damage. Completely plant ring gear clutch on the output shaft. Measure the clearance between the gear and the locking ring (see. Accompanying illustration). Compare result of measurement with the regulatory requirements (see. Table sizes and adjustments in the end of the Guide), if necessary, replace the ring and / or gear.
  1. Check the lever rods and shift fork for signs of wear, damage and deformation. Make smooth sliding surfaces. Check the tension of the spring clips.
  2. Check housings for cracks or other damage.
  3. Replace defective components.

If the control lever, or a fixing pin to be replaced, they should be changed in the set.
