Service fuel tank

The following procedure applies to models with a body the versatile and Hardtop. For other types of body work is performed similarly to the necessary amendments to the structural features of the body.

Refitting

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
The luggage compartment Give fixing screws and remove attachable hooks.
Give fixing screws and remove the trim mounting pad with wings tailgate.
Fold the pad forward and take the screws that secure the access cover. Remove the cover.
Disconnect and plug the fuel lines. Disconnect the electrical connector.

The sensor unit of fuel consumption, and 3.0 liter models and fuel pump can now be extracted from the fuel tank to perform the necessary repairs after the give fasteners. Excerpted from the fuel tank fuel flow models 4.2 liters shown in the accompanying illustration.

Poddomkratte back of the car and establish it on props.

Carefully remove the drain plug Fuel tank capacity (see. Accompanying illustration) and drain the fuel into a clean canister. Replace the plug and tighten it securely.

Working through the doorway arch right rear wheel, give the bolts shield filler neck to the body of the tank, remove the screen.
Loosen the hose clamps and the filler tube of the fuel vapor outlet (corresponding components of the tank models 4.2 liters shown in an accompanying illustration).

Give fixing bolts and lower down the fuel tank shield.
Give bolts of the tank to the chassis and carefully remove the pot from under the car. Before removing the tank once again make sure that the filler neck and the fuel vapor discharge tube disconnected.

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Ensure that all hoses are in good condition and properly connected to your nipples.
When installing tank track correctness of connection to him filler pipes and drain the fuel vapors.
Fill the tank with clean fuel and check for leaks.
