A trip with a defective generator
When traveling it was discovered that the generator is no longer charging the battery, it means that the generator does not produce voltage, or defective discharge lamp control circuit, or broken electronic voltmeter. In the daytime it is possible to go back in for several hours (with the proviso that the battery is in good condition). In this situation, the following guidelines: - If possible turn off the engine, since its re-launch expended a lot of energy; - If you still need to turn off the engine, put the car down the slope to be able to start the vehicle, pushing the car down the slope; - Turn off the heated rear window, radio and stove; - If the rain is not strong, put the wipers on intermittent switching mode; - If you have to go at night, you turn on only dipped. If the path refused voltage regulator, it is possible to recover the generator when you combine the output ?DF? regulator with "mass" after the lamp low power (12 V and W 5-8). When the engine light will act as a voltage regulator, thus providing battery power. At the first opportunity should replace the failed voltage regulator on the new one.
