Belt accessory



Before checking / replacing belt accessory set the vehicle on horizontal and level ground, secure it with the parking brake, set Chock the wheels, lift the front of the car and reliably establish it on support. Avoid starting the engine by removing the plug from the retractor starter relay. Proceed as follows:
- Turn the steering wheel fully to the right and remove the plastic duct from under the right front wing mounting bolts then release the power steering pump and allow the pump housing to turn toward the engine around its upper support;
- Remove the V-belt pulley power steering pump and, depending on the design, with the pulley of the water pump;
- Check the belt, trying to detect signs of damage or deterioration. Check for signs of uneven wear, peeling, sizing;
- Set the belt in reverse order, paying attention to the fact that it smoothly, without twisting, lay on all the pulleys;
- Adjust the belt tension - pull it towards the front of the car, holding the lower part of the pump hydraulic power steering. Belt it considered correctly tensioned when the midpoint of the longest taper it can not deflect more than 5 mm. Tighten the bolts of the pump hydraulic power assisted steering with demanded effort;
- Turn the crankshaft in the normal direction of rotation for a few revolutions and recheck tension is correctly positioned on belt pulleys. If necessary, repeat the tensioning procedure.
