Ribbed belt accessory



Before checking / replacing the V-ribbed belt accessory set the vehicle on horizontal and level ground, secure it with the parking brake, set Chock the wheels and lift the front of the car, firmly establish it on support. Avoid starting the engine by removing the plug from the retractor starter relay. Proceed as follows:
- Turn the steering wheel fully to the right and remove the plastic duct from under the right front wing, then, if provided a complete set, remove the V-belt;
- Ribbed belts if no manufacturer's mark that indicates the direction of its movement, self-apply a label or marker light paint, but do not cut or scratch the belt;
- If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic tensioning of the "roller-lever" using a wrench, turn the lever mechanism of a tension roller in a clockwise direction against the spring tension so as to loosen the belt;
- If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic device rotating belt tension, loosen the belt with the Allen wrench, turn the central nut of the tensioner counter-clockwise, overcoming the spring tension;
- If the vehicle is not equipped with any of the following devices, automatic tension ribbed belt auxiliary units, its tension is carried by an arm of the generator. To ease the tension of the belt, release the bolts of the upper and lower fastening of the generator and then, overcoming the spring tension, turn the generator down around the top support to the full;
- Remove the belt from the alternator pulley and then from the other pulleys, conduct its survey, as described above;
- Skip ribbed belt pulley at the crankshaft, making sure that the ribs were in a groove on the surface of the pulley. When installing the belt tension and observe the direction of movement of the belt indicated by marking the manufacturer, or you applied the label;
- If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic tensioning of the "roller-lever", an adjustable wrench, turn the lever mechanism of a tension roller in a clockwise direction against the spring tension;
- Place the belt on the pulley of the water pump pulley or pump air conditioning (depending on the design), and then on top of the alternator pulley; then release the lever pulley tensioning mechanism to the roller lay on a flat surface of the belt;
- If the vehicle is equipped with a rotating automatic device belt tension set ring spanner on the central nut of the tensioner and turn it counter-clockwise, overcoming the spring tension, thread the strap flat side of a roller mechanism of a tension, lay it on a pulley of the generator and the power steering pump . Remove the key, make sure that the mechanism of a tension roller ran into the flat side of the belt;
- If your car is at the expense of the tension arm of the generator, shake it a few times against the upper support and ensure that it is free to return back when you did not hold. If necessary, loosen the alternator mounting bolts yet. Then, move the generator all the way down and place the belt on the alternator pulley. Release Generator that he pulled the belt. Replace the connector Retractor relay starter, start the engine and let it work idling for a while. Turn off the engine and tighten the mounting bolts, first the lower and then the upper fastening of the generator;
- Establish if by design, the V-belt of auxiliary units;
- Replace the plastic air duct under the right wing.
