Setting

Make the necessary preparatory steps. Completely remove any sludge and deposits pistons and mating surface of the head / cylinder. Be careful not to damage the surface of the cylinder head. Avoid contact with even the smallest objects in the channels of the oil supply and cooling;
- Check the condition of the cylinder head bolts: inspect thread, measure their length to determine their extension, if necessary, get a new one. The manufacturer does not require replacement of the bolts during removal / installation of a head, but it is recommended;
- If the cylinder head shot separately, make sure that the holes for the head bolts in the cylinder block do not have even a small amount of coolant / oil. In the presence of the liquid, remove it with a syringe, then wipe dry;
- Replace gasket on the head of collectors set, tighten the fixing nut to torque;
- Install the fuel injectors or glow;
- Set the rollers in position for installation of the cylinder head as described at the beginning of this section;

Placing pads on the cylinder head
Fig. 2.6. Placing pads on the cylinder head

- Place the head gasket on the block, putting it on the guides, as shown in Fig. 2.6;

Location Marking ?«TOP?» and Part Numbers
Fig. 2.7. Location Marking ?TOP? and Part Numbers

- Marking with the word "TOP" and the number of pads should be placed at the top (Fig. 2.7);
- Carefully install the cylinder head assembly from the collectors to the cylinder block so that the guides are aligned with the grooves in the cylinder head; Make sure that the gasket came off the guides and remained in position;
- Treating the lower surface of the head bolt heads lubricated with a high melting point, gently insert the bolts into the holes and screw them to the extent possible, from the hand;

The sequence of the bolts fastening the cylinder head
Fig. 2.8. The sequence of the bolts fastening the cylinder head

- In the sequence (Fig. 2.8), tighten the bolts in two runs with a torque wrench and a suitable face head (tightening torques in Table. 2.8).
- Using measuring angles, tighten the bolts on the angle specified for the third tightening, in the same sequence, and then perform the fourth broach;
- If by design, the pump set, then set the back cover of the camshaft drive belt on the engine ABU, ABD and AEA - camshaft sprocket;
- Set the drive belt of the camshaft (see. The procedure for replacing a camshaft belt);
- Fix a bolt to the cylinder head dipstick tube, then connect the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold;
- If the vehicle is equipped with injection system, replace the fuel injector, fuel manifold, intake manifold upper section (depending on the design) and the throttle body;
- If the vehicle is equipped with central injection, set in reverse order, the throttle body and the air chamber;
- If by design, establish the ignition distributor (if present) and high-voltage wires of the ignition system;
- Establish a cover of a camshaft. When it is installed ensure the accuracy of the location of all parts of the gasket on the cylinder head;
- In reverse order, replace the hoses. If they have been secured with clamps Crimp, replace them with the worm;
- Bring into operation the fuel system and ignition system by installing the fuel pump relay and connect to distributor central high-voltage wire;
- If they are removed for better access, install the removed parts of the body;
- As described above, select the accessory drive belt;
- Connect the wiring harness removed, connect the battery to the vehicle's electrical system;
- Observing the necessary concentration, add the engine cooling system necessary quantity of antifreeze;
- If possible, replace the engine oil and add the necessary amount thereof.
