Check external SHRUS
The hinge must be disassembled to replace the lubricant is very dirty, as well as to test surfaces in contact with the balls for wear and pitting.
Withdrawal Before dismantling mark the location of the inner ring with respect to the separator body and the engraving machine or touchstone.
One by one, remove the balls.

Install a separator with a holder so that two rectangular cut-out of the separator line with the projections on the outer CV joint cage (in the housing hinge) (Fig. 3.102). Remove the clip and the separator.
Rotate the clip so that its protruding segment entered into a rectangular cut-out of the separator (Fig. 3.103). Remove the clip from the separator. All 6 balls of each joint have the same nominal dimensions and tolerances. Check the slots, the separator cage and balls for the presence of depressions (pitting) and traces of heavy wear. The increase in backlash at the hinge points to the emergence of a knock when cornering. In such cases, the joint must be replaced. Matting surface of the beads and the presence of these tracks are not the reason for the replacement of the joint.
Setting The hinge housing lay half of the total amount of grease (40 g). Insert a clip and a separator in the joint housing. Place the bulbs crosswise. When assembling the cage set towards the separator in accordance with applied labels. The spline hole inner ring set a new lock ring. Spread the grease residues on the inner surface of the boot. Verifying SHRUS If the hinge is assembled properly, the clip housing can be freely rotated in any direction by an angle corresponding to the angle of rotation of the hinge.
