Checking internal SHRUS
Withdrawal The hinge must be disassembled to replace the lubricant is very dirty, as well as to test surfaces in contact with the balls for wear and pitting. Turn the holder and the separator.
Remove ring with cage and balls in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 3.104). Remove the balls out of the cage.
NOTE Clip and a separator are matched (selective assembly). Do not place items from other joints. |
Remove the clip from the separator by using the recess for the balls (Fig. 3.105).
Check the housing separator cage and balls for the presence of depressions (pitting) and traces of heavy wear. The increase in backlash at the hinge points to the emergence of a knock at the corners. In such cases, the joint must be replaced. Matting surface of the beads and the presence of these tracks are not the reason for the replacement of the joint.
Setting
Using two recesses for the balls, insert the clip into the separator. Installation position is arbitrary. Place the balls in the cage (Fig. 3.106). The housing has two different distances between the centers of the recesses for the balls - more or less.
Place the holder and the separator with the balls in the joint housing, perpendicularly to its plane, the small distance B must be directed to the outside of the yoke (Fig. 3.107). It is also necessary to monitor the situation in the bevel splined hole clips. The chamfer must be visible (found out) when you turn the holder parallel to the plane of the yoke.
Rotate the clip so that it came out of the cage as possible (Fig. 3.108). Strong pressing the separator turn it into a proper position, together with a holder and balls.
