Removing and installing camshaft oil seal



Withdrawal
Remove the timing belt.
Remove the hub and camshaft gear.
Remove the inside of the oil seal puller two turns (about 3 mm) of the outer part and lock the knurled screw.

Lubricate threaded head of a stripper with engine oil, install and press down firmly, screw it as deeply as possible into the stuffing box (Fig. 2.320).
Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part of extractor against camshaft until oil seal is not removed.

Setting
Remove the remaining oil on the crank pin of a camshaft with a clean cloth.

NOTE
Working further lubricate the seal lip is not necessary.

Cover the groove on the cone of the camshaft (such as adhesive tape).
Install the oil seal on the camshaft.

Press in the oil seal using tool tensioning device 10-203 and M1265 bolt until it stops (Fig. 2.321).
Install the hub and camshaft gear.
Install toothed belt and adjust valve timing.
