NOTE Engine oil temperature must be at least 30 ?� C. The battery voltage must be at least 11.5 V. All electrical consumers, eg lights and rear window heating must be switched off. Fuses 13 and 14 (arrows in Figure 2.14) should be removed from their sockets.
Checking procedure Remove the engine cover. Remove ignition coils with output stages. Remove the spark plugs candle key 3122 B. Measure compression using compression tester VA G 1763. The assistant should fully press the accelerator pedal and start the engine. Turn the starter until compression tester readings will cease to increase. The value of compression: - New: 10-13 bar; - The boundary of wear: 7.5 bar; permissible difference between all cylinders: 3 bar. Screw the spark plug spark plug wrench 3122B and tighten them to a torque of 20 Nm.
After completing installation work Connect tester VAS 5052. Test the automotive systems.
