Start the diesel engine
Put the selector of an automatic transmission to position P or N. Place the gear manual transmission in neutral. Depress the clutch pedal all the way and hold it in this position. Keep the vehicle in place with the brake pedal.
Turn the ignition key to position 1 (Fig. 1.109) when the starting heater warning lamp. When the warning lamp is not lit (or is not lit), turn the ignition key to position 2 (Fig. 1.109) to start the motor - press the pedal Fuel should not be. Release the ignition key when the engine starts - the starter should not rotate when the engine is running. After a cold start it will be for some time to work with increased noise, as yet not large enough oil pressure valve tappet clearances. This is normal.
Preheating diesel engine During operation, the heating should not include powerful consumers of a current - will be too much load on the battery. Immediately, the warning lamp goes out starting heating should start the engine.
The diesel engine after running out of fuel from the tank If the fuel tank was completely empty when you first start the engine after fueling the startup process will take longer than usual - up to half a minute. The reason for this is that the fuel system should be free of air during starting.
